Chicago Tribune Festival Of Homes:
Plaisance Place Celebrates Grand Opening Of Phase IV

Plaisance Place, a successful community in the Woodlawn neighborhood on Chicago's South Side, is celebrating the grand opening of Phase IV. The Thrush Cos. is building 13 single-family homes in Phase IV, including Plan "C" which is Festival Of Homes # _____.

Located at 62nd and Ellis, Plaisance Place is a joint venture between The Thrush Cos. and the Woodlawn Preservation & Investment Corp., a community organization. The development consists of four gated communities comprised of 42 single-family homes and nine townhomes. Plaisance Place already is home to more than 38 residents in Phases I, II and III.

Homes in Phase IV have 2,606 to 2,976 square feet of living space, three or four bedrooms, and 2-1/2 baths. The Prairie-style designs were inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and executed by Chicago architects Philip Kupritz and Associates. Current base prices range from $239,900 to $269,900.

Plan "C" is one of two three-story designs offered at Plaisance Place. Ideal for families, the 2,976-square-foot home has two or three bedrooms, and 2-1/2 baths. It also includes a fully applianced kitchen, large living / dining room, family room or study, and a master bedroom suite with private bath.

Homes at Plaisance Place are situated on fully improved, wider-than-average lots and have attached two-car garages, central air conditioning, carpeting, and wood decks per plan. Additionally, all plans offer the option of reconfiguring the lower level as a one-bedroom apartment.

Another advantage of Plaisance Place is its location. It is a secure, gated community one block from the University of Chicago Law School and near the Stevenson and Dan Ryan Expressways.

Plaisance Place IV is at the southeast corner of 62nd Street and Ellis Ave. Sales are by appointment only. Call (773) 624-0220.
